I have been living and working in the Northwest since 2001, firstly in Bundoran, Co. Donegal and in Sligo town since 2003 with my husband Conor, we have three children.
I have been working as a Youth Liaison Worker with the Sligo Leitrim Home Youth Liaison Service since 2005. As a front-line worker on the ground I know the gaps in service provision and I am very much aware of the everyday issues and problems that people face.
I am a strong believer in social justice and equality of opportunity for all and I am committed to ensuring that people and community come first. I have always been an active member of my local community as a previous Beaver Scout Leader and Treasurer of Sligo Family Resource Centre, current vice-president of Sligo-Leitrim Council of Trade Unions, Chairperson of Cartron Community Recreational Committee and secretary of Sligo Cycling Campaign and a campaigner for Repealing the 8th amendment.
I fundamentally believe in the provision of quality public services and believe that everyone is entitled to a home, excellent public healthcare, free education, affordable childcare, secure employment conditions, a living wage, access to quality & affordable public transport and peace of mind about all of our futures and the future of this planet.
