Firstly, please let me introduce myself. My name is Michael Murphy and I am the Local Area Rep for the Labour Party for the Comeragh area working closely with Cllr. Ger Barron.
Most importantly, I want to make a difference in our community. I am a graduate from WIT in Social Science, Former Welfare Officer and President of WIT Students’ Union and am currently working as a Project Worker with Focus Ireland. I have grown up and live in the Comeragh area of County Waterford and am incredibly proud of where I am from. I am from the Parish of Kilrossanty, went to school in Kilmacthomas and now live in Bonmahon.
The issues facing ordinary, genuine and hardworking people spanning across Ireland today are certainly felt in our locality. I want to make a difference and believe that together we can see real change whilst providing support to those who need it in our community. I have most recently demonstrated this by co-founding a community group on the Copper Coast around the issue of litter amongst many others.
I could state the issues that are clear in our area but instead I want to lead the change that you ask me to. What is it that you want to see action on in your local area? What issues are you facing?
No issue is too big or too small, be it a pot hole or a street light all the way to the development of your locality or village, anti-social behaviour or traffic calming measures please don’t hesitate in asking for assistance. I want to help and will continue to work on behalf of the people in our area.
Yours in solidarity,
